Summer

Birds singing, flowers in bloom and a welcoming salt water pool to enjoy.  Is there a better way to spend a summer day?  During summer, our organic garden is at its peak and the surrounding community is brimming with u-pick opportunities for fruits and vegetables.  June is the time for strawberry picking in Columbia County, with sweet cherries ripening in early July, followed by sour cherries.  The sweetest peaches you’ll ever taste became available in very late July or early August and the early fall crop of apples, pears and plums follows that.  The Hudson area is also home to several Farmers Markets, where you can buy local produce in addition to other locally made products, like baked goods, wine and distilled spirits, all while listening to some local musical talent.

There are many festivals throughout the local communities in the summer months, culminating with the Columbia County Fair in Chatham over Labor Day weekend, featuring rides, food, games, animal exhibits, a tractor pull and some fairly big-name musical entertainment.

Autumn

Soak up the beauty of this season right here I our back yard.  Fall is the most beautiful season of the year reaching its peak just before Halloween. The scenic views have inspired painters and photographers to capture scenes of wildlife and the changing sky, beautiful flowers and birdlife. Our cozy cottages allow you to relax and unwind, or take time to enjoy walks out the back door and pick flowers.

In the general area, there are multiple farms that allow pick-your-own apples and pumpkins, have corn mazes, and some even host special Halloween events.  You can find more about this HERE.

Winter Thyme

A peaceful warm glow emanates from the cottages on winter evenings.  You control the temperature of your private, individual cabin.  Enjoy a candle lit dinner; each cottage has a table for two with dinnerware, a microwave, fridge.  There is an Apple TV for movie watching, comfy beds with down quilts and wintery walks out the door.

If you want to sample country community life, winter often brings events like food-based fundraisers at the firehouse or craft fairs during the winter months in and around Hudson. The local historic sites and community events can round out your visit.  Check out the Winter Walk, Farm and Flea, Art Omi, and Hawthorne Valley’s Holiday Fair.  Visit Columbia County Tourism for details.
